Meetings and EventsAnnual ConferencesEach year a member state or province hosts an Annual Conference for the International Hunter Education Association. The conferences include IHEA Board meetings, committee meetings, training workshops, and presentations by experts. It is also a chance for hunter education volunteers and professionals to meet their counterparts from throughout North America and several other countries. There are many social events, often including tours, cookouts, and shooting events. Among the highlights are the annual award presentations, and many exhibits presented by the shooting sports industry and non-profit conservation groups. Volunteers and hunter education professionals are encouraged to attend IHEA annual conferences, which are normally held in April, May, or early June. Specific details can be found under News and Events. Regional EventsOn occasion the IHEA sponsors or co-sponsors regional meetings and events, sometimes called a Rendevous. These sessions draw instructors from several states or provinces to receive information on new programs or specific issues. When these events are scheduled you can find information under News and Events, or from your respective hunter education administrator. |
